TRAINING GREAT THERAPISTS SINCE 1989

Welcome to
"Geno's Massage Training Center"
located on Alii Dr. in Kailua-Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii.
I have graduate students working all over the world.
NOT ALL MASSAGE IS THE SAME! My massage training system offers an excellent opportunity for you to acquire incredible hands on skills and a vast amount of anatomical knowledge. Anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology is emphasized. The focus will be the muscular, circulatory, nervous, skeletal, respiratory and digestive systems. You will learn how to identify close to 40 muscles and will acquire the skills to apply massage techniques to these muscles, not wipe skin over those muscles. At the end of my 10 week introductory course (required by the State Board of Massage), you will have the skills to give a quality massage treatment, whether for relaxation or for therapeutic reasons. The foundation of knowledge and skills developed in this course will open the doors to utilize the tremendous advanced techniques offered in the upper level classes.   The education/hands on skills you learn in the 150 hour course, have no equal. These hands on skills have been requested and provided for at: World Class Spas/Hotels, the Olympic Games, Professional Volleyball Association, Professional Sports teams, Medical, Orthopedic, Chiropractic Centers and many other venues. The "World Class" hands on skills you will learn is referred to as: "Muscular Massage Therapy". It is the ultimate hands on treatment for: relaxation, muscle therapy, headaches (80% are muscle related), elderly care, athletes, etc. I WILL NOT teach you how to "wipe skin".
MY PHRASE IS:
"We do not wipe skin over muscles,
we massage the muscles under the skin".

"GET YOUR STATE LICENSE!!"

I, Geno Ortiz L.M.T. (Kona/Big Island of Hawaii resident of 35 years) welcome you to this information site. More detailed information can be obtained by contacting me directly.
The State of Hawaii requires a total of 570 hours of education to qualify to sit for the State Board Exams. Upon completion of the Level 1, 150 hour class, an additional 420 hours will be completed in the Level 2 (Apprentice Massage) education program.
I am proud to offer you the opportunity to receive a superior education in the world of massage, anatomy, and professionalism.
In less then 1 year, you can pocess a State of Hawaii massage therapist license. With this license in hand, you will have the potential and professional skills to be earning as much as $100 per hour or more. I know this for a fact, because I have created this type of opportunity for myself and others. WHY MY BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII MASSAGE COURSES STAND OUT:
1. I AM THE ONLY MASSAGE THERAPIST IN THE STATE THAT HAS RECEIVED AN OFFICIAL “COMMENDATION” FROM THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
“As founder of Kona’s Center for Muscular Massage, you have earned an excellent reputation in Hawaii, and I join your colleagues and the rest of the community in congratulating you.” Benjamin J. Cayetano, Governor
2. I have been State of Hawaii licensed Massage Therapist since 1980.
3. I have hundreds of graduates, many are practicing all over the world.
4. My training program in Kona has been in existence for over 16 years. I also also provide "Muscular Massage" education to professional therapists, here in Kona and also on the Mainland.
5. My courses hold State of Hawaii and National Certification status.
6. The massage techniques I teach apply, to all situations, from “non-active clients to Olympic athletes”. These techniques have been requested by: The International Olympic Committee, Hotels/Resorts, medical facilities/rehabilitation centers, private clients, professional athletes, and especially for relaxation.
7. My experience in the Professional Massage world cannot be surpassed by any other massage training center on the Big Island. My fortunate experiences in the professional world of massage is a huge learning tool for my students to learn from. I will also educate you on work options, presentations, how interviews are conducted, fair pay negotiations, work conditions, and many other aspects of your future Professional Massage career.
8. Unlike other massage training centers, my specialized training techniques will enhance your therapeutic value and earning potential.
9. My anatomy education has been achieved at the University level, pre-med classes (Whittier College, University of Oregon, Long Beach State University). I have virtually been inside of close to 20 human cadavers, dissecting and studying tissues under the microscope. This education has given me the understanding of how tissues respond to hands on therapy. This, of course, is dependant on the quality of the “hands on techniques”. Quality and efficient hands on techniques must comply with the tissues structure. Wiping the skin” massage techniques might feel OK , however you are just wiping skin. The therapeutic efficiency to the underlying tissues could be insignificant.
10. HERE ON THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII, I TEACH QUALITY/EFFECTIVE HANDS ON TECHNIQUES TAUGHT NO PLACE ELSE!
